My Story

Electronic Musician and Music Journalist

I grew up in the Appalachian mountains of North Carolina. I've lived all across the state; exploring the coast, the plains and so far up in the hills I ran into an actual old school "clan", guns, the looks of death and everything. Most of these experiences gave my music and art a dark edge.

I've traveled across the country to live in various places and get a feel for the local subcultures, from Washington state to Manhattan, New York. Traveling taught me not only self reliance, but expanded my perception of art and music. I've stayed fascinated, and I've learned that this world just has too much in it to stay still. I rarely have any blocks when it comes to creating.

I have a degree in Telecommunications; the radio and television broadcasting sector. I've studied journalism, mass media law, and fumbled through a few music recording courses. That got better later in my life when I was able to meet pro recording engineers and could network through the music industry.

I composed, recorded and delivered a solo podcast during the Covid era lockdown, and called it Natural and Wild with Christine Greyson. While I let that go after we all eased back out into the world, all the episodes are still available for free on podcast platforms and are still running strong.

I've written books, journals, and I've made extra money by writing up student essays and papers when hungover students at App State couldn't (or didn't want to) manage. I love acting and modeling, and got to learn those skills as well while living down in New Orleans after Katrina. That was a good time—can't even begin to talk about that one in a bio.

Today, I'm the founder of Elevar Music Magazine, supporting DIY artists and providing interviews with brilliant musicians. I'm fortunate to have lived a mysterious, exciting and full life so far, and I wouldn't trade it for the world.
